love the snow, don't love exams...

So usually you can go skiing in Bavaria around the beginning of November. well, not this year... I was super excited for snow and I had to wait for it forever. The other skiing instructors and I had some training to do for the season but absolutely NO SNOW in Bavaria. so for the first weekend we went to the Pitztal Glacier. Fun weekend and I decided I am in love with my new ski boots. After those two days I was so sore. (Like I hate living on 4th floor without an elevator sore!).

Then along came december: Still no snow. So instead of going skiing at Ratschings, South Tyrol, we went to Kronplatz where it had at least artificial snow. First I thought of staying home due to the snow conditions and the shitty weather... Afterwards I am so glad I went! Epic weekend. We had so much fun. And even it was not real snow, it was still pretty good skiing!

so two great weekends so far! lets see what comes along during the season. Unfortunately right now I have to study for upcoming exams. More concerned about problems like: That moment when the orange highlighter runs out and the whole organization system breaks down. Commencing plan b: highlight in yellowthen pink, then go to store eventually.

something like home

purple bedroom wall
so after weeks of not posting, I will tell you the reason why:

my new flat and university.
I finally have some furniture and it was a lot of work to put the pieces together. REALLY tons of work. took way more effort than I thought...
And technically seen I have absolutely no time right now. My Exams are in December which is already pretty close. I only realized because of all the Christmas stuff in shops.

So I like Ikea. Yes I do. And under normal circumstances I like working with my hands, i.e. to setup shelfs, glass cabinets. But after the fifth thing even I start to give up.

All the things I built!

CURTAINS!!

Next problem: Internet, phone and TV. I think I talked to the phone company 18393948 trillion times. Still not perfect: phone yes, internet yes BUT TV still not working properly...

SPACE for my clothes! yay!

By now I am already happy that I have all the lamps installed. so I am happy. I guess it will take awhile until I have all the decoration I want and it feels REALLY like home. I enjoy having my grandma nearby. she helps me with curtains, and stuff like that. In return I go grocery shopping for her or help her figuring out the internet! and of course I love it if she cooks for me... I wish that someday I will have the same cooking abilitys! Until then I am probably better of studying economics! I will keep you all updated. and to my friends in the US and all the other wonderful places in this world. I have a place to stay for you. You are invited to visit Munich at all times. Just let me know!

Hello followers!

I really like my new job. Right now I am basically a full time student and getting payed for it, makes things easier! on Thursday the previous tenant is moving out. so after my grandmother checked the appartment (its hers) it is ready for me to move in. We decided that I will get a new kitchen, since the one, which is in the appartment right now is pretty old and not really energy-saving (talking about a 20 year old fridge...) can't wait to make cookies and to cook in my new apartment!

so I will move in next weekend and I am super excited! tomorrow I meet the painter to discuss the colors for my walls. Any suggestions?
I absolutely love bruising through the furiture stores and get inspired! I started to go dancing every friday and I love it! I have not been dancing for years and I never realized how much I missed it!Unfortunately I cought a cold. Not a good timing right now. Totally not the right timing. so much I wanted to do during the weekend... At least I got a little bit time to blog!

I got myself a pair of new shoes. I love the color. not red. not pink. just perfect. and they are just right for fall weather!

Remember summer

so over the last couple of days the weather has been going worse. Fall is coming... Nevertheless it was an exceptional beautiful September! Amazing sunshine! here some pictures from lately...

During the last warm days we did an amazing bike tour. It was fun! Markus and I ended up in a beautiful Biergarten!

On September 29th it was my Mom's and Franky's birthday. Yes they have at the same day!! crazy I know. Since Franky turned 50, we had a bit of a party. There were sooo many people and we had the best food!

The other morning I got up early to go for a run. It was the most beautiful sunrise. Taken in the English Garden in Munich (Englischer Garten, München) around 7 am.

I am definately going to miss the summer! but I miss skiing and winter as well... so let's see what the next weeks will bring. I will move into my new appartment on Oct. 20th! until then, I have plenty to pack and organize...

I like, I like, I like

So the first couple of weeks of my new job are over! And so far I really like it. All of the others who started working with me are really nice. We spent one week in a hotel in a small town called Bernried, near Lake Starnberg! We met people from Hamburg, Frankfurt and Stuttgart. I was fun but also exhausting!
WE ♥ Oktoberfest
As much as I like my new job, it is diffrent. I do not have as much freetime anymore. I feel like the weekends are flying by and in the evening there is not so much time left to do something. My grandmother's funeral is this Saturday. Altough it is a very sad occasion, I like the fact that my uncle Rudi is coming from Seattle (USA) to visit. I have not seen him and his wife in a very long time and I am looking forward to seeing him.

new chapter...

This past week was pretty exciting! I started a new job combined with a university degree in Economics and Business! Since Uni won't start until October I have only had two interesting days in my new company. I really like it! On the first day I was pretty nervous and did not know what to wear, etc... but on the second day we did a ralley quiz through the entire company and it was really relaxed and fun. Now I do not feel so lost anymore in that huge building... Lets see what tomorrow will bring.
I have to get used to get up early again. Not sooo easy... and we only have to be there at nine. I guess I am just not a morning person.
And there is a sad occasion I have to write about as well:

Melitta Ott
1922 - 2011

On September 2nd, my Grandmother, Mrs Melitta Ott passed away at the age of 88. She will be greatly missed. But even my family and I will miss her a lot, I think for her it was time. She really missed my dad (her oldest son) after he died this January and she had a hard time. She always said she has had a great life and is very happy and satisfied with her life. I think she knew it was her time to go, soon. She quietly felt asleep and died without pain. I guess that was the best for her. I visited her two days before and she was delighted about the flowers I brought her. I hope she is in a happy place, free to move again and reunited with my dad, without the affliction of an aging body.

There have also been a lot of fun things this week! I went climbing with friends:

And we tried to make Sushi for the first time. It was not too bad. my family ate all the leftovers! We made way to many of those little yummy pieces! Fun, fun, fun.

Yesterday

Best Pizza from "Landhaus"
Yesterday was great. I feel like summer is finally here! The weather is really good and being outside is so much fun. During the day I was at Lake Starnberg and in the evening I met with one of my best friends to have the best Pizza in the world! we sat outside and had a really nice evening including some driving around with my Vespa (scooter) which I loooove! only bummer: I got sting by a wasp!
SUMMER
I have to say there is nothing better than an evening with a person you have not seen in a while and you never realized how much you missed hanging out with that special person. Sometimes we are all so busy with school, work etc. that we do not take enough time for the fun things in life! yesterday I really did! Oh and I started a project: I would like to sew a dress, completely by myself! For some of you this sounds easy but for me, it will be the first time and I hope it won't be a total failure! Let's see how this is going to work out...

Back home in Bavaria!

On the evening of July 4th I left Auckland to fly home. I had a stopover in LA which was cool since it was the American Independence day! Even the imigration officers and the people working at customs were very nice that day. Definitivly diffrent than the last couple of times I was in the the US! I arrived super tired in London where I had to change flights again. After 26 hours of travelling I arrived at Munich were my mom picked me up at the airport. To suprise me, one of my uncles who works close to the airport came with my mom to suprise me. Really nice of him, but I was so tired I could not really appreciate it. First think I did was to SLEEP!

Today is August, the 20th and I still have no clue what to do with all the pictures I took! I am so happy I did this trip and I think it made it easier for me to deal with the sad fact that started my trip. My Dad passed away on January 13th of this year. It was a complete shock for me and the rest of my family. He was only 53 years old. And even if I think he died way too young, I found a way for myself to deal with it. I am convinced that my dad watches over me and is with me at all times. He loved travelling and I am sure he would loved what I have done! I feel like I have seen some more of this amazing world. And of course there is so much more to explore...
Coming back home after almost six month was great! You appreaciate the little things in life so much more! like your own bed and a hot shower...
Moreover I reunited with my friends and of course visited my family. My grandmother (my Dad's mom), had a really hard time during I was away. She is 88 years old and simply could not understand why my Dad had to go before her. She loves my brother and me very much, maybe even more because she only has two grandchildren. She was afraid that we would not meet again, but I returned and she was just so grateful to have me back. She tells me she prays for my dad every day before she goes to bed. And she always says he will reserve the best spot in heaven for her right next to him, with the best view! it is just a joke but somehow I like the thought of it!
For now I am excited to go back to University and start a new Job September 1st! I am going to move back to Munich. Right now I enjoy the weather and being home but I also get a litte bit bored by having not really a whole lot to do. I am counting the days until Uni starts again... only 12 days left until a new chapter of my life starts!

Last days in New Zealand before flying home!

After my four weeks in Australia, I returned to NZ to fly home from there. Well I tried... thanks to the Volcanic Ash Could which came from Chile, I was trapped in Melbourne for two days because all flights to Auckland had been cancelled! But Helga and Theo were really nice and I stayed with them for that time. so when I finally arrived in Auckland I had about six days left before my flight back home. I decided to explore Northland since I hadn't done that so far. And I have to say it was amazing. I really loved it up there in Pahia and I was impressed by Cape Reinga. You can see the Tidal Race where the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean are meeting. Moreover I loved the Maori belief on how this is the point where the spirit of their dead are meeting and from there resend to the so called "homeland". I felt like there is an really special atomosphere at the Cape!

Australia

After Fiji I flew to Australia to meet my boyfriend. I got four weeks off work so it was worth flying to Australia! You have to keep in mind that it is a least 25 hour flight from Germany to OZ! On June 4th I arrived in Melbourne! We spent amazing four weeks travelling up the East Coast and then coming back to Melbourne to visit some old friends of his family who have been living near Melbourne since the 1950's! I think it is amazing that they are still in touch with my boyfriends family after such a long time. Theo and Helga are the nicest people and I swear I hadn't eaten so many delicious things since I started my journey.
This post is in English and not in German because some of my friends who are not from home, thought it is very rude of me to exclude them... well guys I AM SORRY! And I promise to continue writing in English! At least sometimes... ;-)
Luckily pictures are a language everyone understands! so here are some Australia impressions:

Those were some MELBOURNE PICS!
Here are some more from other places:

We Did a 2 Day Sailing trip at Airlie Beach! It was soooo beautiful!!
