Ski season

So over the last weekends I have been busy skiing. The weather has been really nice. Really lucky!
The pictures are from Pitztal Glacier, Hintertux and Stubai.
Next weekend I am going to spend in the enchanting Val Racines. We go there every year with all the skiing instructors who work in the same ski school as I do. I can't wait!
Fingers crossed for more snow and good weather!
Sad I have to study for the upcoming winter exams the rest of the week. I would be skiing everyday if there wasn't university...

Tabaluga ♥

On friday night Markus and I watched the musical "Tabaluga und die Zeichen der Zeit" (Tabaluga and the signs of time)
Tabaluga is a little fictional green dragon and has been following me all my life! When I was four years old I saw the first Musical "Tabaluga and Lilli" with my parents.
My dad gave me a little Tabaluga (stuffed animal) years ago after that first show and I still have it.
It has always been my favorite toy. So there is a really strong bond for me between Tabaluga and my dad.
I even took "my" Tabaluga with me to the hospital on the day my dad passed away.
Markus knew I am in love with everything related to this litte green dragon. He gave me the tickets for Christmas last year.
And on friday, we finally went and saw it. The show had been sold out for about a year.
It was great and pretty emotional for me.
I am not that kind of girl that usually cries during a movie, but this musical was too much for me. Sometimes I miss my dad so much. There was one song when Tabaluga dreamed about his dragon father Tyrion who passed away when he was six. I felt like my dad was sitting right next to me. I am so grateful I got the chance to see it! Best gift ever. Best boyfriend ever.

Little man's birthday and quilting

Jonas and I

So yesterday we spend the Day with Markus' family. In was a special occasion. This little guy on the pictures here turned three. His name is Jonas and he the son of Markus' cousin Tanja.
He just grabbed my phone and asked: "picture, please?" So we had a fun little photo session and his mom had time for some amazing cake!
It was fun to be back home!

Markus joined us!

Today I finished the Top of my quilt! Sad  it is not quilted yet but I already like it! Its matching the wall!

P.S.: Thrid post this month. guess that means no exams yet!

Murderous Dinner

So yesterday evening we did something really fun. To tell the truth two of our friends Junior and Kristina actually were the hosts.

The entire happening  called "Murderous Dinner" (Mörderisches Dinner) and was arranged at Markus and my place since we have the biggest dining table.
A few days earlier we received fancy invitations telling us what role we have to play.
The entire play was set on the Titanic. Therefore we had to dress up according to our roles and the time of 1912!

Countess Anastasia Zobel
I was Countess Anastasia Zobel:
Member of the Russish high    nobility and close friend of the
tsarina of Russia.
I wore a ton of (fake) jewelry and bright red lipstick.

The other roles:
Studying our roles
Kristina: Lady Katelyn Winselet, frigid British widow of timeless beauty.
Junior: Dr.Waterson, close friend of "Herlock Sloames" and medical doctor.
Jenny:The Maharani of Purpur, an exotic Indian ballet dancer.
Flo: Douglas Fitzgerald, the son of the owner of the Titanic.
Markus: Nicolai Rasputin, russian miracle healer and hypnotist.

Junior and Kristina cooked for us and the entire evening was just brilliant. The game was played in three acts and was composed around a murder and the theft of a rare diamont.

Lady Winslet and Dr.Waterson
Nicolai Rasputin! I loved the fake hair  and beard

Quilting...well first of all: Patchwork

Good morning!
Today is "All Saints' Day" (Allerheiligen) in Germany. Here in Bavaria it is a official holiday and I do not have  school.
Since it is gloomy  weather today and I still got headaches I decieded to work on my Quilt!
The Top is almost done! Right now I am working on the seam. At least that is how we call it in Germany!
My beloved boyfriend has to work today (although it is a holiday...). This means I got space and time to make a mess and lay out my sewing things all over the living room!

The Plan is to finish the Top this weekend. My Grandmom  is something like a crafting and quilting champion for me. She will come back to Munich after spending a couple of weeks in Rosenheim, where she grew up.
Then the plan is to decide about the back of my quilt: What kind of fabiric and of course which colour!
My Grandmom does all quilting by hand. I am way to impatient for that, so I am going to give maschine quilting a try... Hopefully it is going to work! But I will let you know.

Long time no see

so hello...
I haven't been blogging in a long time. somehow i just didn't feel like blogging. kind of fed up.
But here is an update about the last couple of months...

June:
NEW CAR
Jochberg
Markus moved in with me and started a new job in Munich. like, like, like....and chaos... at least in the beginning. he has a bunch of stuff and my stuff is here as well... so it took us awhile until everything had been organised! and some mountaineering...

July:
Tons of University exams. studying, studying, studying.

August:
SUMMER BREAK. Went to Croatia with some friends. Great times. then spend two weeks at Mallorca, Spain with the family. Really needed some time off.

September:
Sunset at Oktoberfest
Back to work. back to university. hello again every day life. but with tons of new motivation
Started my first Quilt with the help of my Grandmom who is an awesome Quilter. She was in the US during Spring and bought me a lot of Fabric. It is way cheaper there!
Oktoberfest = FUN (and yes, Oktoberfest is in September. do not ask me why!)

Oktober:
University... and this weekend: Oct. 27 2012: THE FIRST SNOW! I am deeply in love with this winter wonderland! Went skiing with the skiing instructors of the DSLV and the ski school I am teaching at. The weather was amazing and I had a really great weekend and sore muscels on Monday.

Buona Pasqua! Frohe Ostern! Happy Easter!

Good Friday until Easter Monday are official holidays in Germany, so no work. A couple days off.
Since the weather over easter wasn't too great in Munich. Markus and I decided to do a little road trip looking for sunshine.
We packed the car and just drove South. We ended up in Florence, Italy. An amazing city I love. Markus had never been there before so we decided to stay a couple of nights. In our tent.
It was fun. Spending Easter in Italy was really special. Pasqua means Easter in Italian! And I cannot tell you how often I heard "Buona Pasqua!" over the last couple of days. Even from strangers on the Streets! I loved it!

In Florence, Easter is celebrated with the Scoppio del Carro, explosion of the cart. A huge, decorated wagon is dragged through Florence by white oxen until it reaches Basilica die Santa Maria del Fiore in the historic center. Following mass, the Archbishop sends a dove-shaped rocked into the cart, igniting the fireworks held in the card. pretty spectacular! it is followed by a parade in medieval costumes!

We had an amazing time and ate at so many great restaurants.

Our Tent!
I ♥ Firenze

il Duomo

The cutest little store! We bought tons of Olive Oil there!

Tramonto del Sole!

In Italy you have to drink Espresso!

Carnival

So last week I was bad. I had tonsillitis and a cold. I could not talk and had to stay in bed. I did not leave my bed for two entire days and felt horrible. I am hardly ever ill so I decided this is it for the next two years, at least...
The Timing was even worse. In Bavaria we celebrate carnival. Not as much as in other parts of Germany, like Cologne. But still we celebrate. And I like it.
On Thursday was "Weiberfasching" which means it is Womans Carnival day. I was still in bed. no celebrations for me. :-(

But I felt better on Saturday so I decided to drive home to Weilheim to join celebrations on Sunday
Every two years the city center of Weilheim, i.e. the pedestrian area tranforms into what I call carnival area. Local stores and sport clubs have little stands outdoors and sell food and drinks. And of course there is a stage where music is played etc.
And everyone is there. no matter what age. Weilheim is not that big and I grew up there so I enjoyed meeting some old friends and people I have not seen in a while!

And of course everyone is dressed up. I went as clown.

BOBSLEIGH

So last year I gave Markus a gift coupon for his birthday for THIS! It is a fairly popular winter sport in Europe. And his Granddad did it when he was younger. So during Christmas break we went to ride a bobsleigh. Well he did I watched! But I had an amazing time as well! The place where we went to is near Berchtesgaden. It is famous for its beautiful landscape and well there a quite a few tourists their. It is super close to the Austrian border, so afterwards we drove to Austria to refuel since it is way cheaper there due to the taxes! We had an amazing day even if it wasn't exactly sunny!
Beautiful Mountains!

So fast! So hard to take pictures!

Hero!

SNOW!
