BOBSLEIGH

So last year I gave Markus a gift coupon for his birthday for THIS! It is a fairly popular winter sport in Europe. And his Granddad did it when he was younger. So during Christmas break we went to ride a bobsleigh. Well he did I watched! But I had an amazing time as well! The place where we went to is near Berchtesgaden. It is famous for its beautiful landscape and well there a quite a few tourists their. It is super close to the Austrian border, so afterwards we drove to Austria to refuel since it is way cheaper there due to the taxes! We had an amazing day even if it wasn't exactly sunny!
Beautiful Mountains!

So fast! So hard to take pictures!

Hero!

First Selfmade Bread

I do have neurodermatitis and lately I've found out that I am allergic to wheat products. I love bread. So I made an attempt to bake an whole grain bread. I would say: success!
Not perfect but for the first time, it tasted and looked like a rye bread! Since it was pretty easy to makg I am def. going to bake it again!

so where to start...
I have been studying a lot lately. to be honest, more than ever before. Back in school I never had to study so much. Luckily I am blessed with a pretty good memory. At least the short-term memory always worked well. :)
Since I haven't been really studying during the last month, maybe this is why it has been hard for me now. The first exams took place in the week before Christmas. Great I know. So I was not really in a Christmas mood until the 23rd of December. and I absolutely adore Christmas time. At least I was done with Shopping and had everything wrapped! Got some great inspriration from this cute blog I found. It is called "Emmadime".
So after the exam on the 22nd I drove home to my family. I think I have not been to Weilheim for four weeks, which is a pretty long time, considering it is only 50 km away. The next day I went skiing with three fellow students! we had a fun day at www.hochfuegenski.com. It was my first time skiing there and really liked the site!
In Germany Christmas Eve (on the 24th) is when all the magic happens. We come together, have a massive dinner and share the presents.
So that is what I did. spent the evening with my family and was fascinated with all the lights and decoration my mom set up. She really loves all that stuff, so our living room is the most fascinating place, maybe sometimes it is a little bit too much, but that is just my taste...
After gift giving and dinner we went to church. That's it pretty much. The public holidays afterwards (25th and 26th) are the one's where everyone visits family and eats until you feel stuffed for about a month!
I went skiing with the fam on the 25th.
That was very different from all the years before. Usually my brother and I visited my Grandmother (my father's mother) and spent the day with my dad and his side of the family. This was the first Christmas since both of them passed away and it was not such a great feeling. I did not get to see my aunts and uncles since they came toghether on the 24th and I really missed my grandmom's cooking. And her Christmas tree. She always had candy on her tree, so my brother and I had this thing where each year we tried to get our favorite treats. not this year...
So Christmas was bittersweat this year.

The last days I was glad to have holidays. New Years Eve dinner was so much fun! It was raining at midnight but we still had an amazing time. We saw all the fireworks from some friends roof-deck. The view over Munich was just amazing.

Happy new Year! Markus and I

So Happy New Year to Everyone!
